On the morning of November 28, 2001, Stephanie told her neighbor that she was headed to the store and would be right back. She then got into the car of a woman she knew. Stephanie never returned. She was never seen again.

Well, the easy answer is that Lawanda wanted to make sure that Stephanie came outside and got in the car with her. Since there was surely a ruse afoot, Lawanda wanted to make sure plan went . . . as planned.
